Stained areas have significantly less scraping to be done.<\/p>\n<h2>The general Preparation consists of:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Power Washing and Cleaning<\/strong><br \/>\nPower washing is done prior to paint crew arrival.<br \/>\nWhen specified a clean or wash is only done where needed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Taping and papering (protecting surfaces)<\/strong><br \/>\nDrop sheets are put down on surfaces.<br \/>\nAreas are protected as required by tape, paper, and plastic.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scraping and Sanding<\/strong><br \/>\nScrape all loose and peeling paint to a solid base.<br \/>\nSand as required or specified.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Caulking<\/strong><br \/>\nRepair any missing or cracked caulking or as detailed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Priming and Stain Sealing<\/strong><br \/>\nPrime all bare and scraped areas (unless specified for full prime).<br \/>\nStain seal any bleedthrough, knots, or tannin bleeds.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clean Up<\/strong><br \/>\nClean up (remove paint chips and dust) .<\/li>\n<li><strong>Minor Repairs<\/strong><br \/>\nClients complete the majority of minor repairs prior to our arrival; these include wood repairs, gutter and downspout repair.<br \/>\nOur staff can do some minor repairs, and our estimators can inform you of the repairs that we can do.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>General Preparation of Specific Areas<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Wood surfaces<\/strong><br \/>\nPower wash\/clean, scrape (previously painted or stained areas only), prime as required, caulk if required, then paint or stain.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Decks and fences<\/strong><br \/>\nPower wash\/clean, scrape (previously painted or stained areas only), prime as required, caulk if required, then paint or stain.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stucco<\/strong><br \/>\nPower wash\/clean, scrape, prime, caulk, repair damaged area, then paint<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vinyl and plastic<\/strong><br \/>\nPower wash\/clean, buff, sand, and\/or prime if required, then paint<\/li>\n<li><strong>Brick and masonry<\/strong><br \/>\nPower wash\/clean, scrape (previously painted or stained areas only), prime as required, caulk if required, repair damaged area, then paint or stain.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aluminium siding<\/strong><br \/>\nPower wash\/clean, prime if required, then paint.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Metal surfaces<\/strong><br \/>\nPower wash\/clean, scrape, wire brush any rust, prime if required, then paint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Note: The above is a general process that can be adjusted to accommodate specific requirements as needed<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Preparation process for Interior painting<\/h2>\n<p>Getting a surface ready for painting means ensuring a smooth debris-free surface for the paint to adhere to along with providing a great looking finish.<\/p>\n<p>Interior paint preparation consists of cleaning, wall repair, sanding, caulking, protection and priming, as well as any minor repairs being done prior to painting.<\/p>\n<h2>Interior Preparation Consists of:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Washing and Cleaning<\/strong><br \/>\nWe do minor cleaning throughout the painting process.<br \/>\nWhen specified, a clean or wash is only done where needed.<br \/>\nWashing is done when required and will be specified in the job description.<br \/>\nPower washing can be used for some areas and of Specific Interior Areas<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ceilings<\/strong><br \/>\nRepair any damaged areas, clean where needed and prime any stained areas.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Walls<\/strong><br \/>\nRepair any damaged areas, clean where needed, prime any filled or stained areas, pole sand as required.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Trim<\/strong><br \/>\nClean as required, fill any nail holes, caulk any gaps or cracks, prime as needed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Epoxy floors (cement)<\/strong><br \/>\nClean, power wash when appropriate, degrease floors as required, acid etch the floor with muriatic acid (can also grind or shot blast depending on requirements), repeat cleaning surface of any residue.<br \/>\n**This process can also apply for other coatings on cement floors.<\/li>\n<li><strong>New drywall<\/strong><br \/>\nDust walls as required, apply a full coat of primer, pole sand primer after dry.<br \/>\n**Pole sanding can also be done after the first finish coat.<\/li>\n<li><strong>New wood trim (interior)<\/strong><br \/>\nSeal any knots with a stain sealer, prime or apply self-priming product.<\/li>\n<li><strong>New metal trim (interior)<\/strong><br \/>\nPrime or apply a self-priming high-grade acrylic product.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Note: The above is a general process that can be adjusted to accommodate specific requirements as
