Residential Exterior – Brick & Trim Transformation

This exterior painting project included staining the home’s previously unpainted brick with Sherwin-Williams Loxon XP Elastomeric Masonry Coating in Roycroft Pewter (SW 2848). The brick required thorough preparation after extensive exterior renovation work had left the surface heavily soiled. We carefully washed the brick to ensure a clean, sound surface before applying the coating.

The factory-finished white windows, doors, and exterior trim were transformed with Tricorn Black, using Sherwin-Williams Latitude for the doors and door frames. Because the doors had a factory finish, they required additional preparation to ensure proper adhesion. Each surface was sanded, cleared of debris, and thoroughly cleaned with methyl hydrate before painting.

The combination of the warm pewter-toned brick and crisp black trim creates a clean, modern exterior while maintaining the character of the home. Careful surface preparation and the use of high-performance exterior products helped ensure a durable, long-lasting finish.
