Protect and beautify your home with a fresh coat of paint!
Changing the colour or refreshing a faded colour on your home will bring your property back to life! A fresh coat of paint will protect and add value to your home while giving it an updated, attractive appearance.
Low-Cost Investment
Exterior painting is a smart investment in your home's value and provides much of the exterior maintenance your home needs.
Cleaning, Caulking, Scraping, Priming and Painting
Cleaning, caulking, scraping, priming, and preparing surfaces for painting keeps your home strong by protecting things like wood trim, stucco, and siding from wearing out. This kind of maintenance helps you avoid expensive repairs and replacements.
Essential Maintenance in Calgary
Calgary’s dry conditions and wide temperature swings can take a serious toll on your home’s exterior. From intense summer sun to freezing winter winds, these elements cause paint to fade, crack, and peel faster than in milder regions. That’s why regular painting is a necessity rather than just purely cosmetic. Most homes in Calgary benefit from a fresh coat of paint every six to ten years to protect surfaces, prevent damage, and maintain or even boost property value.

How We Deliver a Flawless Exterior Paint Job
- Project Evaluation - Upon the arrival of the painting crew, we will do a general review of the project looking at the scope of the work, confirming colour choices, reviewing any site concerns, and setting up a workshop for the project.
- Preparation - The first step for the crew is to prepare the surfaces for painting. This will consist of scraping, sanding, caulking, minor repairs and priming as per the details in the job proposal. In general, once all the preparation is completed, the painting process begins. In some cases, specific sections may be prepared and painted, with the crew moving from section to section.
- Exterior Painting - Painting of the areas will start once the preparation is completed. Working from top to bottom, the areas required will have a fresh coat of paint applied. Second coats will be applied as required in the proposal with recoat times for most products being between three to four hours. Each section is then inspected as the areas are completed.
- General Inspection & Cleanup - After the project is completed, another general inspection of all the areas painted will be done. Final cleanup is done with drop sheets, painting equipment and ladders removed from the site, and a sweep, rake, or shop vac of driveways, gardens, and decks is performed. Garbage is bagged for your regular curbside pickup.
- Paint Storage - We will leave paint behind for any future touch-ups you would like to do and it is important to store these products in a warm dry place.

Exterior painting is a seasonal project in most regions as rain and cold weather prevent the safe application of exterior paint products. However, the enhancement of paint products during the last number of years has allowed painting at colder temperatures. Many paints now have a quick-drying formulation that has a 1 to 2 hour no wash off feature, which allows painting in more uncertain weather conditions.
It is easy for clients to prepare for the exterior painting process. Clients must tightly close windows, move outside furniture and other items away from the building and park vehicles away from the areas being painted prior to the start of power washing and painting.
High quality flat and satin finish acrylic paints and stains are the most commonly used products for wood siding and shingles. These products have a proven track record of durability, colour retention, and longevity. Although most of these high-quality acrylics are self-priming, a waterborne alkyd primer can also be used.
High-quality semi-gloss finish acrylic paints are the most commonly used products for exterior trim work. These products have a proven track record of durability, colour retention, and longevity on trim. Although most of these high-quality acrylics are self-priming, a waterborne alkyd primer can also be used. Stains are also suitable for trim, but this is less common.
High-quality semi-gloss acrylic paints are the most commonly used products for exterior doors. These products have the durability and washability required for use on doors. Although most of these high-quality acrylics are self-priming, a waterborne alkyd or all-purpose metal primer can be used. Stains are also suitable for doors, but this is less common.
Our exterior surface preparation for painting consists of:
a) cleaning, which can be a full-power wash or just cleaning as needed,
b) scraping, wire brushing, and sanding of the old coating to provide a stable surface,
c) caulking of areas to keep wind and rain from penetrating the property,
d) other structural repairs and processes as required.
Most homes that are properly prepared and painted with high-quality products can expect to look good for 6 to 10 years, depending on the environment and the history of the structure. Some homes have a history of application issues that can reduce the longevity of a paint job.
A typical acrylic or oil-based varnish is not suitable for exterior application. However, a Spar varnish is specifically made for exterior use and is the only varnish we use for exterior application.
