The painting of offices can be a simple 2-3 hour task with little interruption or it can be a large logistical operation. Elite Trade Painting understands the needs of a working office environment and what it takes to get big and small offices painted with the minimum amount of disruption.
As part of every proposal for office environments, we will discuss timing and operation of the office, details of the areas required, a general discussion on possible colour choices as well as staff sensitivities to cleaning products and paints. We will calculate the needs for project completion after the assessment for the job is completed.
Detailed Quotes for Your Office Painting
Once we have the project scoped, we will provide a detailed quote for areas and items to be painted that will have a timeline as well as details on the paint products we will be using.
Paints of Choice for Office Painting
Our general choice for office painting is No-VOC products by Dulux (Lifemaster) or Sherwin Williams (ProMar 200). These products have zero harmful chemicals and even the most sensitive personnel will have no issue with these products. These products are high quality paints with great durability and withstand the rigours of daily office usage. They are washable, scrubbable and are available in a full range of colours.
Scheduling and Timing of Office Painting
Once the proposal is accepted, the next step is to set up the timing for the project. This entails setting a starting date and then creating a daily schedule where areas are scheduled for completion and then returned back to service. Working with office staff and management to create the optimal timing to minimize any work disruption is key for a successful schedule.
It is more common for us to paint offices during business hours but in some cases this may not be possible. In this case, we will create schedules that involve labour to be done on evenings, weekends and holidays.
How Long Does It Take to Paint an Office?
A single office for one painter with just walls is a 2-3 hour task; add 1 hour for a door frame and window. A team of two painters can paint 6-7 offices in a day with only walls being completed or 4-5 offices in a day with walls and trim being completed.
What Is Involved with Painting Your Office?
Most offices require walls, doors, windows and door frames to be painted, most ceilings tend to be T-bar tile and are generally not painted. Drywall ceilings if present are more commonly painted but are often in excellent condition and do not require painting. Two coats are usually applied for optimal coverage and durability, but 3-4 coats may be required if using brighter and more vibrant colours.
What Preparation Do We Need to Do to Get Ready for Painting our Office?
Most offices we paint require a minimum of preparation to take place prior to painting. Staff will need to remove small items and paperwork from their work areas, storing them in the desks or cabinets. Boxes and personal items must also be removed or stored. In general, we need a 3 foot clearance around the perimeter of rooms in order for us to accomplish the work required.
We will move most furniture and file cabinets providing that they are not oversized or overweight. Modular furniture will need to be professionally moved or disassembled. It is not uncommon for clients to have a few larger pieces of furniture cut around instead of enduring the hassle and cost of disassembly or professional movers being used.
