Installation
Wall preparation is key to successful wallpaper and vinyl installation. Smooth, clean walls that are fully primed with an alkyd emulsion will ensure proper adhesion and a great look.
We recommend Waterborne alkyd primer for most wallpaper and vinyl installations
Where to find wallpaper and vinyl wallcoverings
With a decline in wallpaper’s popularity and vinyl being a more commercial product, shopping online is the best option for most homeowners.
There are products available at Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, and Home Depot, as well as other building supply stores, but they can be limited in choice.
How long does it take for the vinyl wallcovering or wallpaper to dry?
After installation, it typically takes 24 to 48 hours for the glue to set and 7 to 14 days to cure (sometimes longer depending on conditions).
Care of the vinyl and wallpaper
Once the covering glue has cured, you can wash the surface. It is important to use mild cleaners and rinse well. Abrasive cleaners and tools should never be used on these coverings.
Durability
Vinyl and wallpaper can be much more durable than paint but take more time to complete, and the materials can be quite costly compared to paint.
