Our Elite Commercial Exterior Painting Process:
Power Washing
Any power washing requirements will be completed three – ten days prior to the arrival of painting crews. It is important to provide access to all areas of the property and to ensure all windows are tightly closed.
General Review
Upon arrival, the painting crew will do a general review of the project and review of work procedures and processes that was arranged in the job booking phase. The scope of the project and colour choices are confirmed and a workshop will then be set up for the project.
Preparation of The Surfaces
Preparation of the surfaces will be done first consisting of scraping, sanding, caulking, minor repairs and priming as per the details in the job proposal. Depending on schedule and project requirements, preparation will be completed in its entirety or individual sections may be prepared then painted.
Exterior Painting
Painting happens after preparation is completed. Second coats are applied as required with recoat times of three to four hours for most products. Each section is inspected by the staff as the areas are completed.
Inspection and Cleanup
An inspection of the entire project is performed and a jobsite cleanup is done after the painting is completed. Garbage is bagged for garbage bin disposal or curbside pickup.
Paint Storage For Future Use
Touch up paint is left behind for future use. It is important to store the paint inside and not exposed to the elements. Some specialty products may have additional storage requirements (please read label or inquire).

Exterior painting is subject to seasonality, and depending on the area you live, it will dictate the timing of your painting. The window for exterior painting has, fortunately, become much wider as paint technology improves. Most exterior paints are now cold tolerant with no wash off features and better tolerance to heat, providing us with a longer exterior season and more productivity.
Learn More!
It is easy for clients to prepare for the exterior painting process. Clients must tightly close windows, move outside furniture and other items away from the building. They should also park vehicles away from the areas being painted prior to the start of power washing and painting.

High-quality acrylics are a standard recommendation for Commercial buildings, as they are typically composed of cement and metal siding. Primers are usually a multi-purpose metal primer or an acrylic self-priming product. There are several options for wood buildings, such as high-quality acrylics and stains.
